Here is a project Matthew Good completed so that the homeowner could keep her bicycle out of the way, yet be able to access it easily when she needed it.

This crank is used easily by the homeowner to raise and lower the bicycle safely.

Many small businesses simply don’t have room in their budget for a staff of maintenance personnel. That’s when it’s time to call Good Odd Jobs. Matthew Good does quality work and can handle repairs and modifications of your office space.

Many of Matthew’s customers are so happy with his work that they hire him for other projects. This vinyl fence is one example of that, you can see the shed he re-built in the background.

Rescue of Rotted Storage Shed

To repair or replace? That is the question!

The days of disposable everything are a thing of the past. The environmentally conscious choice is to repair items that can be repaired instead of sending them to the land fill.

This particular storage shed was in very bad shape, but Matthew Good of Good Odd Jobs was able to remove the rotted wood and repair it, saving the homeowner time and money in the process.

This shed is in bad shape! Not only is the siding rotting, but some of the trim and the support beams are deteriorating too.

Here's the upper corner; it's been crumbling away for some time now.

The lower right corner has sufferend not only from the weather, but critters chewing their way in as well.

Next, it was time to replace the siding.

Another picture of the siding replacement; this shot demonstrates that the other sides of the shed weren't in such bad shape, making repair a better choice than replacement.

In addition to the siding, we installed a new door as well as window over the door to let light inside.

By the time we were done, you couldn't tell it had been falling apart.

Dry Rot Window Frame Repair

Dry rotted window and door frames are a common problem in Hampton Roads. Did you know that you can have the window and door frames repaired, rather than replacing them? That way you can maintain the artistic integrity of the building style of your home.

Here is a typical handyman project showing how Matthew Good of Good Odd Jobs repaired this all-too-common problem.

This is a very common and most people think that they need to repair the whole window. Every window is different but this bay window could be saved. Saving the owner thousands of dollars.

Shower Tile Repair

Sometimes a home improvement project becomes more than the homeowner bargained for. That’s the perfect time to call in a handyman. Matthew Good of Good Odd Jobs can pick up where you left off and get the job done right.

Here is a typical example of a project where the homeowner bit off more than they could chew: a shower and tile issue.

Oops! This repair got out of control, so the homeowner called Good Odd Jobs.

After the plumbing repair, the wall was repaired and the tile re-installed. (The grout is wet, when it dried it matched the existing grout.)

Custom Shelving Installation – Simple Shelves

This was a simple shelf installation. The homeowner wanted to use some of the empty space above the door to add some additional storage.

Kithen Tile Backsplash Installation

For this project, I was tying in the nice granite counter tops with the rest of the kitchen. Without a tile backsplash, the stove seems to float in the space between the counter tops, giving the kitchen a disjointed look. If you look at the  space between the counter on the left and the stove, you’ll get a good idea of what I mean.

Boat Remodeling and Repair

Good Odd Jobs is at it again! Not only have we done a wide variety of home handyman projects and office maintenance and repair projects, but we’ve even done boat remodeling. With the vast number of waterways and boats in the area, one would think it would be easy to find someone to help with the repairs, but there are very few businesses that can help. Thank goodness for Good Odd Jobs!

The boat in this project wasn’t in that bad of shape, but Matthew had to make two seats on the port side.

Shower Tile Repair

This is  a quick, funny video of a tile repair job in a shower. It’s a good example of a bad situation that turned out very well. The husband who started the job sawed through the tile, and left a mess for me. After correctly bracing the manifold,  I had to be careful not to cut any of the plumbing. This step-by-step approach is how I communicate with all of my customers.
